However, you are allowed to merge multiple free spaces in the hard drive by shifting partitions upwards or downwards. Disk Utility is showing a disk as hidden and I am unable to mount it or select it.
Why so? The partitions, which are hidden by Stellar Partition Manager, can only be revealed by the software itself. Hence, in order to mount the hidden partition back, you need to use the 'Reveal' option in Stellar Partition Manager. With other applications or Disk Utility, you can be able to view the hidden partition, however, cannot select or mount it.

With the data erased from your partition, you still need to delete the now-empty partition in order to reallocate its space to the rest of your hard drive. To do so, select your hard drive from the left panel and then click the Partition button at the top of Disk Utility.

On the pie graph on the left, click the wedge that represents the partition you just erased. Before we begin, let me say I am in no way responsible for your actions.
This is what worked for me. On the left is a list of drives your Macbook or iMac can see. Select the drive from this left menu that has the partitions you want to combine. Select the partition form the big block on the left that you want to remove.
Turning two partitions into one
This will bring up a message, okay that and it will delete the extra partition and leave empty space. Now we need to fill that empty space with your main partition.
Still on this partition screen, you will see your main partition block has three small lines in the bottom corner.
